Because there are all kinds of funny expressions of pet dogs like huskies circulating on the Internet, we have the impression that huskies have a very "stupid" and "bad" appearance. But if huskies are not funny, they still look very similar to ferocious animals like wolves. Why is there such an illusion? Why do huskies look so similar to wolves?

Husky

The scientific name of the Husky is the Siberian Husky. In relevant historical records, its ancestors can be traced back to before the Neolithic Age. Although domestic dogs are inextricably related to wolves, the dog with the closest blood relationship to the Arctic wolf is the husky.

In the early days, the Chukchi people trained the dogs that followed them as working dogs that could be used to pull sleds and guard livestock because they were cold-resistant, had small appetites, and worked very seriously. Therefore, it was considered a very important wealth among the tribe at that time. This group of dogs, which were called Siberian Chukchi dogs in the early days, were the ancestors of the later Huskies. The reason why Huskies look like wolves is because their ancestors mated and bred with wolves. The power of genes made Huskies look like wolves, and this is still the case today.

It can be seen that the reason why huskies are like wolves is because they do contain wolf genes in their bodies. However, after constant changes, huskies have lost the indifference and wildness of wolves, and they have become closer to people, more lively and docile.
