Samoyeds can't swim. Because the coat of Satsuma is very thick, it is not suitable for swimming. But if you want it to swim, be sure to plug its ears with cotton. Don't throw it into the water when swimming. You can lure it into the water, or let it go into the water on its own. If you force it or push it directly into the water, it may cause the Samoyed to drown.

Precautions for Samoyed swimming:

1. If it is the first time for a Samoyed to enter the water or is not familiar with water, he will lack a sense of security. The owner can put the Samoyed into the water. Hold the Samoyed in your arms and wait until the Samoyed's mood stabilizes before letting him go.

2. Choose a swimming pool with frequent water changes or high fluidity. Samoyeds should be cleaned promptly after swimming to avoid contracting infectious diseases such as skin diseases or conjunctivitis.

3. During swimming, once the Samoyed dog appears to pant, it means that its physical strength has reached its limit, and the Samoyed dog should be taken out of the swimming pool immediately.

4. Samoyeds who usually lack exercise, have poor physical strength, or are new to swimming should go ashore to rest every 5 minutes before going into the water.

5. Samoyeds suffering from hip joint disease are not suitable for strenuous exercise, so it is recommended to wear a life jacket before swimming.

6. After the Samoyed dog enters the water, the owner can observe from the side. If the water splash changes from big to small when swimming, it means that the Samoyed has mastered the balance method and the state is gradually becoming stable.
