Benefits of neutering dogs:

1. Reduce aggression: Dogs after neutering have a milder temper; not only their personality will become calmer, but they will also be more focused Increasing it can also reduce the frequency of howling.

2. Reduce the probability of genital diseases: Reduce the probability of prostate disease, testicular cancer, hernia, and perianal adenoma.

3. The chance of avoiding breast tumors and ovarian tumors: ligation before the first estrus can significantly reduce the chance of developing breast malignant tumors to less than 1%. The probability of occurrence is 0.8, and the second estrus is as high as 26%.

Disadvantages of neutering dogs:

1. Neutering triples the chance of dogs becoming obese. Being overweight can lead to arthritis, heart disease, pancreatitis, and diabetes. After the dog is neutered, if the owner continues to feed the same amount of food as before the sterilization, the dog will easily gain weight.

2. Ligation increases the risk of hemangioma. Hemangioma commonly occurs in the heart and spleen. Spayed dogs are twice as likely to develop splenic hemangioma and four times more likely to develop cardiac hemangioma than unspayed dogs.

3. Vasectomy will triple the chance of developing hypothyroidism.

4. Ligation increases the risk of Alzheimer’s disease.

5. There are risks in ligation surgery. Twenty percent of ligation surgeries are associated with at least one complication, such as adverse anesthetic reactions, internal bleeding, inflammation or infection, abscesses, incomplete suturing, etc.

6. If ligation is performed at the wrong age, it will increase the risk of hip dysplasia, ligament rupture, osteosarcoma (bone cancer) and urinary incontinence.
