Healthy Samoyed babies are often lively and lovable. Friends must pay attention to many small details when purchasing.

1. Choose common sense

1. When you first come into contact with a Samoyed puppy, it will come to you automatically and confidently, with bright eyes and a wagging tail. You can believe that it is a normal and healthy puppy. On the contrary, if it snorts and hides in the dark when you approach it, it is a puppy with a lonely personality. If you pet it gently with your hands and it jumps or barks loudly, this is a neurotic puppy born from "inbreeding", don't choose it.

2. There should be no baldness, dander, ectoparasites (worms) or itching on the entire body of the Samoyed puppy, including the fur on the limbs and tail. At the same time, the abdomen should not be excessively distended or distended; there should be no lumps in the center of the lower abdomen and groin (to avoid "hernia").

3. Gently lift the tail of the Samoyed puppy to make sure the area around the anus and tail are clean.

2. Observe the appetite of Samoyed puppies

A healthy Samoyed puppy should have a normal appetite. Eating, drinking, playing, sleeping, and excretion are the four major needs of puppies for normal growth. Puppies who have just experienced a change in environment, food, or motion sickness may have a temporary decrease in appetite. If a Samoyed puppy doesn’t like to eat or move, don’t choose one.

However, sometimes puppies with severe dehydration, latent diseases, gastroenteritis and physical pain will lose their appetite. In this situation, prospective dog owners should maintain a wait-and-see attitude. Ask the store clerk about feeding times, then schedule a visit to observe changes.

3. Observe the size of Samoyed puppies

A healthy Samoyed puppy should usually have the best physical development, so generally well-developed dogs will also be very muscular.

1. Teeth. Choose a Samoyed that looks the strongest and most flexible. A relatively simple and effective method is to make the Samoyed stand upright on the table. Check its teeth and mouth. A good puppy's teeth have a level, scissors bite, and the upper teeth should fit (cover) the lower teeth tightly in front of them, without any gaps.

2. Eyes. As the saying goes, “The eyes are the windows to the soul,” the same applies to Samoyed puppies. A good and healthy Samoyed should have bright and energetic eyes, clean and neat eyelashes, and slightly moist eye rims. It is not normal if the Samoyed puppy's eyes are red (congested and flushed) or beige (yellowing of the conjunctiva).

3. Bones. At the same time, you can also let the Samoyed puppy stand and touch the whole body of the Samoyed puppy. The ribs should be touchable but not obvious; pay attention to the dog's bones, such as whether the skull is deformed, whether the spine is curved, and whether the jaw bone is Whether there are cracks, hip joints and kneesWhether the joint is dislocated, etc.

4. Activities. By playing with the dog, running and jumping, the little Samoyed's movements should be normal, flexible, and without lameness.

4. Observe whether the Samoyed puppies have any symptoms of illness

1. Check whether the Samoyed puppy has runny nose. Dogs may have a runny nose if they catch a cold, have a sensitive nose or have an upper respiratory tract infection. After being infected by bacteria, the secretion will turn into milky white, yellow or green pus. In addition, if food spurts out of the nostrils, it means eating too quickly, problems with the swallowing mechanism, or congenital structural defects. It is not recommended to choose such a Samoyed puppy. ?

2. Check whether the Samoyed puppy has a cough. If the dog catches a cold, has a sensitive throat, has a turbid air environment, tracheitis and bronchitis, it can cause the puppy to cough. It is not recommended to choose such a Samoyed puppy.

3. Observe the nose of the Samoyed puppy. A healthy dog's nose should be moist. If your dog's nose becomes dry, he may be sick.
