Chihuahuas are petite and cute, and are very suitable for girls to raise. However, because there are many unscrupulous businessmen on the market, if we don’t understand, we are often fooled into buying cross-breed Chihuahuas. So how do we choose purebred Chihuahuas?

1. Purebred Chihuahuas weigh no more than 6 pounds, have a rectangular body proportions, a round apple head, large but not protruding eyes, and bright black or red eyes.

2. Purebred Chihuahuas have larger, erect ears that will stand upright when they are nervous. The distance between the ears is 45 degrees; the pointed mouth is almost 90 degrees to the face.

3. The purebred Chihuahua’s neck has a slight curvature, and the rounded ribs support the chest, but it does not form a barrel chest. The tail is moderately long and held high in a sickle shape, with the tip of the tail touching the back.

4. Identify purebred Chihuahuas with narrow shoulders that gradually become wider downwards, straight front legs, balanced and strong shoulders upwards, moderate tilt to the back, slender feet, toes that cannot be too far apart, and thick pads (not like rabbit or cat feet) and The ankles are slender.

5. The short-haired purebred Chihuahua has a very soft, tight and smooth coat (undercoat is allowed when the hair volume is large enough). The coat covers the dog's body and has a fur collar and tail. The head and ears are coated. The hair on the tail is sparse and resembles fur.

6. Identify the purebred Chihuahua's long-haired coat, which is soft, flat or slightly curved, with feathers on the edges of the ears, a plump and long tail, feathers on the feet and legs, shorts on the back, and a fur collar on the neck.
