The Shiba Inu is different from foreign dogs. The Shiba Inu is simple and wild. Its original flavor corresponds to the Japanese people's love for nature, understanding, quietness, and elegance. It has a deep relationship with the Japanese people's hearts and has a unique charm. .

This magic has the power to penetrate deeply into people's hearts and make them unforgettable.

I have been fascinated by the Shiba Inu’s faraway eyes since middle school, and I have been gray-haired for most of my life without even realizing it.

I have little talent and little knowledge, but I have worked hard in my own way. Here we gather the experiences of our predecessors to describe the breeding methods of Shiba Inu.

1. The purpose of breeding

The methods of raising Shiba Inu dogs vary greatly depending on whether they are intended to be simply raised as domestic dogs or as local dogs, or used as hunting hounds, or whether they are intended to be bred as excellent dogs for exhibitions. But no matter which one it is, the first important thing is to understand the nature and performance of Shiba Inu.

In other words, the nature of the Shiba Inu must be strong and mighty, kind and simple. The performance of the Shiba Inu must be sharp, agile, and walk briskly and elastically.

These essences and performances are also mentioned in other chapters as the key to determining the quality of a Shiba Inu. However, leaving aside genetic factors, in fact the quality of the environment and feeding and management are responsible for most of the quality of the Shiba Inu. The responsibility is not too much.

Therefore, I would like to talk about basic feeding and management aspects here.

2. Diet from weaning to six months of age

For puppies who are still chasing after the mother dog’s breast, as long as they are not particularly weak or sick, they just need to take good care of the mother dog’s health, eat well, sleep next to the mother dog, and interact with the dog. Sibling frolics have little to worry about.

If humans mistakenly intervene between mother and child dogs, it will cause unexpected results.

The Shiba Inu has a strong maternal instinct and is very good at raising children.

But generally, since dogs are kept in kennels, the health management of female dogs is very important. The nutrition of the puppies, who are gaining weight day by day and becoming more and more lively, depends on the mother dog, which is very hard work.

From giving birth to raising children, the female dog’s body condition without rest and fatigue is prone to poor health. Therefore, it is necessary to pay attention to the health status of the female dog from the time of estrus, so that the female dog can mate, give birth, and wean the puppies under the best physical condition. The health of the mother dog and the health of the puppies are almost identical.

Puppies born happily will open their eyes and look around in wonder at their surroundings when they are about two weeks old. When the dog is about 20 days old, it will start to wrap around the female dog playfully, disturb the female dog from eating, or even put its head into the bowl when following the female dog.Got scolded by the bitch.

Puppies that are twenty-five days old will approach the rice bowl even if the mother dog chases them. You can mix a small amount of dog food with hot soup and add a small amount of minced meat and feed it twice a day. At this time, if the mother dog's milk supply is insufficient and the puppies will bark due to hunger, the feeding period can be advanced.

When they are thirty days old, the female dog will usually spit out the food she has eaten and feed it to the puppies. At this time, the aforementioned feeding amount can be increased to three times a day.

After forty days, the puppy will start to play with the female dog, or play with the dog brothers, and occasionally start to fight with the dog brothers.

Most of the quarrels between puppies like this are due to competition for food, so the feeding should ensure that all the puppies eat equally. If the puppies are fed one by one first and then the puppies are fed together, there will be quarrels. If the mother dog begins to hate letting the puppies suck milk because the puppies are becoming more and more active, she can separate the mother dog from the puppies during the day. In this way, the puppies will be able to breastfeed in just four or five days. Weaned. Except for some late-maturing puppies, puppies will become more independent day by day. The feeding mentioned above is divided into morning, noon, dusk and evening, four times a day.

Feed only enough to make the puppy's belly slightly bloated, and observe its defecation to see if there is overeating.

The feces excreted by puppies can be said to be an indicator of the puppy’s health. Soft stool or diarrhea can be caused by eating too much, inappropriate feeding, or catching a cold. It may also be caused by parasites. However, puppies can be separated from their dog brothers as long as they are fifty-five days old, and there is no problem in sending them to other homes.

On the other hand, when you buy a puppy, you also need to understand how to take care of it during its period. The puppy's food intake, feeding frequency, what to feed, and the breeder of the puppy during this period should all be made clear to the breeder who buys the dog.
