Treatment methods for canine infectious hepatitis

1. Use antiserum or whole blood, serum or plasma or globulin of recovered dogs to inhibit the reproduction of the virus or diffusion.

2. Use glucose and normal saline for supportive therapy every day to correct water and electrolyte imbalances.

3. Use antibacterial drugs to prevent and treat concurrent or secondary infections, such as isatis root, anti-toxic spirit, vitamin B12 and vitamin C and other preparations.

4. Strictly control secondary infections and inject ampicillin and kanamycin intramuscularly into sick dogs to control further infections.

5. If a sick dog develops jaundice, glucose solution needs to be injected intravenously and 20-40ml of Kuhuang Injection can be added to control jaundice.

Causes of infectious hepatitis in dogs

1. Dogs infected with viruses and bacteria , parasites. These pathogens invade the liver or their toxins act on liver cells and cause disease.

2. Dogs accidentally eat toxic substances or repeatedly use chemicals, causing body poisoning.

3. Dogs eat spoiled food and toxic decomposition products from industrial processing, causing liver cell necrosis.
