Friends who have just bought a dog will know that they need to be vaccinated under the guidance of the pet store owner or doctor, but when it comes to vaccination, there are still many details that need to be paid attention to, as well as many misunderstandings. Let’s learn about the basic knowledge of dog vaccination with the editor!

The vaccine is actually a weakened virus that has reduced its viability. The viruses used for vaccines are specially cultured and processed with technology. Their activity is much lower than that of normal viruses, which can help dogs develop resistance. After being vaccinated, even if they are infected with normal viruses in the future, their resistance will be enough to deal with it. Feel free.

Note:

Generally speaking, vaccination is not dangerous to dogs, but it can be life-threatening when injected when the dog is sick.

1. For dogs with poor physical fitness and malnutrition, it is best to improve their physical fitness and strengthen nutrition first, and then vaccinate them until they are healthy.

2. Do not vaccinate when you are sick, otherwise the condition may be aggravated.

3. If you have been in contact with a sick dog before injection, you need to undergo a comprehensive examination before injection.

4. Injecting pregnant female dogs may cause miscarriage and is absolutely prohibited.

5. It is not suitable for female dogs to be vaccinated within half a month after giving birth.

6. Dogs whose wounds have not healed are not suitable for vaccination.

Misunderstandings about vaccinating dogs

Misunderstanding -: Dogs seldom or never go out, they are not contagious and do not need to be vaccinated. As the number of dogs increases, the exchanges between relatives and friends, and the owners' outings may bring the virus to the dogs at home. Even if they do not go out, they must be vaccinated.

Misunderstanding 2:—It is safe to be vaccinated. You should get vaccinated as soon as you buy the puppy. Unvaccinated puppies have to gradually adapt to their new environment, eating and resting. If the puppy comes from a market where the environment is dirty, the plague is rampant, and the puppy suffers from hunger and cold, his physical condition must be very poor, and he may have been infected with a terrible disease but has not had an attack. In this case, vaccination will be counterproductive. The patient should be nursed back to health and observed for about 10 days, and then immunized after the hospital tests confirm health.

Myth 3: Pregnant dog mothers can be vaccinated, which can bring antibodies to their children. The reaction after injection of attenuated vaccine is strong and may damage the fetus. The instructions for this type of vaccine clearly state that "pregnant dogs are not allowed" and they should wait until they are lactated before vaccinating them.

Will there be any adverse reactions to dog vaccinations?

1. After injection, the dog shows symptomsProblems such as elevated temperature, depression, loss of appetite, and pain are all normal and will usually recover within two hours.

2. If you experience itching all over your body or facial swelling, you must go to the hospital immediately for desensitization.

3. Some dogs also get sick within a few days to more than ten days after being vaccinated. The reasons are:

(1) The vaccinated dog is already sick and is in the incubation period.

(2) You become infected with the virus after vaccination and before the vaccine takes effect (it takes about ten days).

4. It is strictly forbidden to bathe the dog within 10 days after vaccination to prevent the body’s resistance from decreasing.
