Before buying an English bulldog, you need to understand its morphological characteristics and then go shopping to avoid buying a bunch of bulldogs.

Size: The weight of a mature male is about 22.5 kg; the weight of a mature female is about 18 kg. Proportion: Head circumference (circumference in front of the ears) is proportional to the height of the highest point of the shoulder blades. Symmetry: The "emphasis" is quite scattered, and each part is very symmetrical in relation to other parts. No one part is very prominent, while other parts are obviously insufficient, making the appearance look ugly or out of proportion. Influence of gender: Comparing different genders, females are allowed to be more tolerant, so the requirements for females are not as strict as for males, nor are they required to be as majestic as males.

Color The color of the coat should be balanced, pure and shiny. The preferred colors of this breed are the following: (1) red tabby (2) other color tabby. (3) Pure white. (4) Pure red, camel or light brown. (5) piebald color. (6) Color as described above, but of poor quality. NOTE: Correct piebald color is preferable to dirty tabby color or defective solid color. Solid black is a very undesirable color, but a certain amount of black patches are allowed in piebald colors. The ideal situation for tabby color is that the colors that make up the tabby are beautiful, consistent and evenly distributed. A small amount of white on the chest is irrelevant in tabby or solid colors. Piebald color requires clear, clear color patches, pure colors, and symmetrical distribution.

Gait: His posture and demeanor are very specific, with a gait that appears to be loose-jointed, shuffling, and moving laterally, producing a unique "rolling" gait. But no matter what, the movements should appear unrestrained, stretched and strong.

Forequarters Shoulder blades: The shoulder blades are well muscled, very heavy, widely distributed, and sloping outward, giving the impression of stability and very strong strength. Forelimbs: The legs are short, strong, straight, and muscular. They are set widely apart. The fibula is very well developed and shows an arched appearance. However, the leg bones cannot be bent or crossed, and the feet cannot be too close together. Elbows: The elbows are set low and outward, with a loose relationship to the body. Feet: Feet are of medium size, compact and stable. The toes are compact, with the upper part split, the toe joints high, and the toenails short and thick. The front feet are straight or slightly turned out.

Hindquarters Legs: The hind legs are strong and muscular, slightly longer than the forelimbs, bringing the waist higher than the shoulder blades. The hocks are slightly curved and set low so that there is sufficient length and strength from loin to hock. The lower hind legs are short, straight and strong, with the knee joints slightly bent outward and slightly away from the body. The hocks are therefore close together and the hind feet are turned outwards. Feet: Feet are of medium size, compact and stable.

Coat The coat is straight, short, flat, dense, fine in texture, smooth and shiny (without bangs, feathering or curls). Skin: The skin appears soft and loose, especially on the head, neck, and shoulder blades. Wrinkles and cellulite: The head and face are covered with heavy wrinkles, and at the throat, from the lower jaw to the chest, there are two layers of loose and drooping folds, forming fat.

Head, eyes and eyelids: The eyes, viewed from the front, are located relatively low on the head, as far away from the ears as possible, with the line between the corners of the eyes and the stop at right angles. Directly in front of the head, the eyes are as widely spaced apart as possible, with the outer corners of the eyes within the contour of the cheeks when viewed from the front. The eyes are fairly round in shape, medium in size, neither sunken nor protruding, and very dark in color.
