Many people have heard of cage training, but they still don’t know what cage training is. They think that this is a kind of training to train dogs to sleep in a cage to avoid problems. In fact, this is a big mistake. Next, I’m going to take you into the cage training of your dog (it is recommended that you start from a young age).

The first step of cage training: prepare the cage

The air transport cage is the best choice for cage training. After selecting the cage, cover it with cloth to make the cage feel dark and safe. At the beginning, be sure not to close the cage to avoid the dog becoming disgusted with the cage and thinking that the cage is a place to punish it.

The key point of "cage training" is not to make the dog afraid of the cage. Therefore, when the dog owner initially performs "cage training" on the dog, he should make the dog feel that the cage is a safe and warm paradise. , rather than an area to punish it, and then let the dog slowly get used to "cage training".

The second step of cage training: seducing the dog

Dog parents can put their dog’s favorite snacks or toys in the cage to induce the dog to enter the cage on its own. Of course, you can also hold your dog into the cage with your hands to make it feel more secure and like entering the cage. It should be noted that never force your dog to enter the cage. If the dog still hates the cage, the dog parents can use snacks to guide the dog into the cage when they are at home. When the dog enters the cage, you can give two treats. After the dog comes out of the cage, you can give a snack and then repeat the action of going in and out. Dogs have a sense of quantity and will soon learn that if there are two treats in the cage and one treat in the cage, it is better to go into the cage.

A little trick can also be used in this step, which is to feed the dog in the cage in the morning and evening. Use food to induce the dog to enter the cage. Do not force the dog to go in, but make it willing to go in. When the dog is eating, quietly close the cage, and as soon as the dog finishes eating, open the cage immediately.

Step Three of Cage Training: Soothe the Dog

When the dog enters the cage, dog parents should not forget to comfort and encourage the dog, so that the dog will be more willing to enter the cage obediently. After being trained in the cage, the dog will become very accustomed to staying in the cage even if the cage is not closed.

After closing the cage door in the initial stage, you can let the dog out to drink water for 30 minutes, and then continue training in the cage. Gradually you can extend the interval between letting the dog out to drink water.

The recommended interval for dog training in the cage is four hours. Let the dog out every four hours to go to the toilet and drink water. When the dog gets used to the cage, even if the cage door is not closed, it will habitually return to the cage to rest.

Follow the above steps, no matter how naughty your dog is, I believe he will fall in love with the cage!
