No matter what breed of dog you are, you must clean and care for their ear canals regularly. Otherwise, it will easily cause ear canal diseases, which will not only make the dog uncomfortable, but will also make you allergic to the stench emanating from the dog’s ears. It produces disgust, so regular ear canal cleaning is indispensable for dogs.

Scottish Sheepdog

1. The ear canal of the Scottish Sheepdog should be cleaned in time. For parents, it is best to ensure that the ear canal is cleaned once every week or every two weeks. Of course, if the Su Mu dog has been infected with ear disease, it is best to keep cleaning it every 2-3 days.

2. When cleaning, you can wrap the warm and wet towel or soft cloth around the wooden stick, or use alcohol swabs or paraffin oil to help clean the ears of the Su Mu dog. Note that if you want to instill earwax softening cleaning solution into your dog first, you must fix the dog’s head and don’t let it shake randomly. At the same time, after dripping, gently knead the dog's ears. After the earwax is softened, it can be cleaned.

3. You can use a clean cotton swab when cleaning. Note that the cleaning action must be gentle and slow, and at the same time, ensure that Su Mu’s head can be fixed to avoid damaging the dog’s eardrum. When cleaning, the cotton swab should not go too deep into the ear canal, as this can easily damage the dog's eardrum.

PS: If the Scottish Shepherd’s ear canal already shows signs of infection, or there is a peculiar smell coming out. Then it is best to send the dog to the hospital and ask a professional beautician or pet doctor to take care of it to ensure that the ear disease problem of the Sumeru Dog can be completely solved.
