How to feed puppies

1. It is best for newborn dogs to be breastfed. They will be stronger when they leave the nest after 2 months. The nutrition of breast milk is more comprehensive for puppies, it is more suitable for the intestines and stomach of puppies, and it contains certain maternal antibodies. Dogs who have been breastfed for 2 months will have a stronger body.

2. Be sure to control the eating speed. The eating speed is 1 ml of milk per minute. If the speed is too fast, it is very easy to choke the milk, and the puppies who choke the milk are easy to develop aspiration pneumonia. Clinically, the mortality rate of aspiration pneumonia in puppies is as high as more than 60%.

3. Puppies that leave the nest early should be kept warm. Dogs under one month old should be fed goat milk powder at least 5 times a day. If the puppies have to leave the nest before they are two months old, they should be fed at this time. Pay attention to keeping the puppy warm, especially when the temperature difference between morning and evening is large. When the puppy sleeps, its nest should be placed in the house, covered with soft and warm cotton pads, and then covered with a small blanket.

4. Clean the kennel frequently to ensure that the place where the dog lives is clean and free of bacteria. Because the puppy is just born, the body’s resistance is not good and it is easy to get bacterial infection and get sick. .

5. Dogs can be vaccinated after they are 45 days old. During this period, it is not advisable to take the dog out to prevent the dog from being infected with the virus before it develops antibodies.
