Methods to measure a cat’s body temperature:

1. You can directly use a thermometer to take the temperature in the cat’s anus or ear. The normal range of the cat’s rectal temperature is 38.1° C to 39.1°C. If the measured temperature exceeds this range, the cat may have a fever. If the fever exceeds 39°C, please take it to the pet hospital immediately, because high fever can cause organ damage to cats.

2. After swinging the thermometer below 35 degrees Celsius, gently place the thermometer on the cat's thigh, close to the cat's skin. Wait 3 to 5 minutes and then take it out and read it. Generally, the temperature measured in this way will be 0.5°C lower than the rectal temperature. Therefore, the owner adds 0.5°C to the reading to get the cat’s true body temperature. If the cat’s body temperature exceeds 39.5°C, it has a fever.
