Dog owners all know that it is inevitable that their dogs will get sick and need to go to the pet hospital or have their pets groomed. But for dogs, it is really scary for several strangers to hold instruments and put them on the same instrument table and press them around. So how can we prevent dogs from being afraid of pet doctors and beauticians?

1. First place a table or desk at home, pretending to be an instrument table. Also invite a few of your friends to pretend to be pet doctors or beauticians.

2. Let your friend come into the house, then slowly and gently carry the dog to the table, and give it some time to adapt to being in a high place. Remember that the tabletop should not be too smooth, as slipping will increase the dog's fear. In addition, if it is winter and the countertop is relatively cold, it is best to bring a small pad for the dog to reduce the dog’s discomfort.

3. Friends gathered around and pretended to check. The owner should constantly stroke the dog's body at this time to make the dog feel safe, and at the same time, give the dog some food as a reward.

4. Practice more and let the dog gradually adapt until it can calmly sit on the table and let everyone play with its ears, eyes, mouth, paws and buttocks. If your dog shows fear (such as licking its lips, clawing out, opening its mouth or panting), you need to help calm its mood; if your dog can calmly accept a friend's check, you can ask your friend to reward it with some food.

Note:

After your dog gradually adapts to it at home, try to find as many different people as possible to practice with your dog in different places. It works best until it accepts being played with anywhere.
