Since pet dogs live with humans for a long time, their work and rest schedules are similar to those of humans, especially in terms of diet. Parents usually feed their dogs during their own meal times. However, dogs are not humans after all, so they still need to pay attention to some issues when feeding, such as feeding time. So when is the best time to feed your dog?

Pet dogs at different ages should have different feeding times and methods.

Young pet dogs should be fed small meals frequently, and the smaller dogs should be fed the most times a day. For example, a newly weaned puppy may need to be fed 5 or 6 times a day, so the puppy needs to be fed every 4 hours or so.

If you are raising a small dog, it is recommended to divide the daily food into four meals for the puppy. When the dog is three months old, the feeding frequency can be changed to three times. After the dog reaches adulthood, it only needs to be fed twice a day.

If you have a large dog, they are still in a period of rapid growth when they are eight months old, and parents need to feed them 3-4 times a day. The feeding time for adult dogs is usually once in the morning and once in the evening. Once a routine is formed, do not change it casually.

If you only feed your dog one meal a day, then this meal can be arranged around 8 a.m. or around 7 p.m. Of course, the amount of food fed each time should be sufficient to meet the dog's physical needs. If you give your dog two meals a day, you can feed it once in the morning and once in the evening, at 7-8 o'clock in the morning, and you can also choose to feed it around 7-8 o'clock in the evening. Of course, if your dog eats two meals a day, the amount of food in each meal must be reduced. Simply put, the food for the day is divided into two meals.

A warm reminder to parents, do not take your dog out to play when it has not eaten or has just finished eating, otherwise it may cause gastric torsion in the dog.
