Many dogs are very protective of their food. During the meal, whether the owner intends to add dog food or pet the dog, it is easy to bite the hand. At this time, dog owners can delay the dog’s urge to eat through training. The following training is mainly to teach the dog to eat only with the permission of the owner:

1. Put the leash on the dog and put the dog’s food bowl in front of the dog. The dog is not allowed to eat food as soon as it sees it. If necessary, you can tighten the leash to stop it and command it to "put it down" at the same time. Let him sit or at least stand by your side.

2. Wait until the dog begs you with pitiful eyes to let him eat. Remember to be patient, it doesn't matter if you wait a little longer, until eventually he will look at you obediently to see if you are ready to let him eat.

3. When he does this, you can command him to "eat" and allow him to start eating. Remember to praise his patience.

4. While it is eating, you can reach out and add a little something delicious to its bowl, so that it will understand that others reaching out to its food bowl are not trying to snatch away its meal.
