Many husky owners think their husky has a fever when they touch their dog's head and feel hot or dry when their little dog is sick. In fact, the correct way is to use a thermometer to determine whether the Husky has a fever. The most accurate place to measure is the anus.

1. Don’t judge a husky by its nose

Many Xiaoha’s owners like to use dry nose as a criterion to judge their dog’s fever. In fact, this alone is not the correct way to judge. Although your dog's nose may become hotter and drier when he has a fever, since there are many mucus glands on the dog's nose, it is still possible to secrete mucus normally to keep the nose moist. The correct way to correctly determine whether they have a fever is to take their body temperature.

2. How to measure the temperature of a Husky

You can use a human thermometer at home. Remember to swing the mercury column below 35°C before measuring, and then place it on the inner thigh of the Husky's hind limbs or clamp it under the armpit of the forelimbs. But the best place is the anus. (It does sound a bit indecent, but the anus is indeed the most accurate place to measure.)

It is best to rub Vaseline on the thermometer before the test, so that the dog will be less painful when inserting it into the dog's anus. Then gently insert the thermometer into the husky's anus and measure for 5-10 minutes.

3. Comparison table of normal body temperature of Husky dogs

Generally, the body temperature of Husky puppies: 38.5 to 39.0 degrees is normal; small adult dogs: 38.0 to 39.0 degrees is normal; medium-sized dogs: 38.5-39°C for puppies and 38-38.5°C for adult dogs; large adult dogs, 37.5 to 38.5 degrees is normal. The temperature should be measured when the dog is quiet.

ps: "We Love Pets Network" reminds everyone: the above body temperature is measured by the anus. If the puppy owner really can't bear to insert the anus, the armpits and thighs are also acceptable, but the temperature in the anus is generally 0.5°C higher than the armpits or inner thighs, so please check it yourself.
