Symptoms of dog filariasis:

1. The earliest symptom is chronic cough, but there are no other symptoms of upper respiratory tract infection. It is aggravated by exercise, or the sick dog is affected by exercise. Fatigue easily.

2. As the disease progresses, pain on palpation of the liver area and hepatomegaly will occur. Fluid accumulation in the chest and abdominal cavity, general edema, weight loss, and abdominal circumference increase.

3. Sick dogs are often accompanied by nodular skin disease, which is characterized by itching and multiple focal nodules that tend to rupture. Skin nodules are pyogenic granulomatous inflammation in the center of blood vessels.

4. If the infection is left untreated for a long time, dogs will develop symptoms of heart disease, such as heart palpitations, intracardiac murmurs, and difficulty breathing.

5. In the final stage of filariasis infection, the dog will eventually die due to general weakness or collapse during exercise.
