Is home sterilization reliable?

Home sterilization is unreliable. From a general perspective, door-to-door sterilization seems to save money and trouble, but the risk of surgery is extremely high. The operating tables, surgical instruments, and surgical gowns in pet hospitals are all sterilized by high temperature. There is no comparison between the medical equipment and the sterile environment at home. Regular veterinarians will not sterilize pets outside the hospital, so door-to-door sterilization is not reliable.

Precautions for cat sterilization:

1. Preoperative examination is very important. Before sterilization surgery, cats need to undergo routine blood tests and biochemical tests. This is to understand the cat’s current physical condition and is also the key for veterinarians to determine the dosage of anesthetics.

2. Surgical monitoring. We need to know the cat's heartbeat, blood pressure, respiratory rate and body temperature before, during and after the operation. Only with life-detecting instruments can we ensure the cat's safety during the operation and successfully escape the risks of the operation.

3. Sterile environment. Whether it is humans or animals, any surgery requires a sterile environment. This is why it is divided into sterile area, contaminated area and semi-contaminated area. Sterile area can reduce the risk of infection.
