Female Golden Retrievers generally go into estrus around 8 to 10 months after birth, and each estrus lasts for six to fourteen days, with a few going into estrus for more than 20 days. Female Golden Retrievers come into estrus every five to six months, usually from March to May in spring and September to November in autumn. Male Golden Retrievers do not have an obvious estrus period. They go into estrus based on the female dog's estrus.

How to take care of a golden retriever in estrus:

1. A golden retriever in estrus will be more excited and the body’s resistance will also decrease. Therefore, the owner needs to supplement the nutrition of the golden retriever, and can feed it nutritious meals made of pork, chicken and other meats combined with carrots, pumpkin, cabbage, etc.

2. The golden retriever in estrus will exude secretions. The owner needs to clean up the secretions, put the golden retriever in menstrual pants and change them regularly.

3. The owner should pay attention to the hygiene at home. If there are secretions on furniture, floors, etc., they should be cleaned in time to prevent the Golden Retriever from being invaded by bacteria.

4. If you don’t want your golden retriever to get pregnant, it’s best to sterilize your dog, which will allow your dog to happily spend its estrus period.
