Has your dog been vaccinated? The rabies vaccine produces antibodies in the animal's body, and its preventive effect is not permanent. Antibodies usually only develop 2-3 weeks after the vaccine is injected, and will expire in about a year. Therefore, pets need to be vaccinated against rabies every year; according to relevant survey data, most of the dogs suffering from rabies are dogs that have not been vaccinated against rabies. The infection is generally transmitted through saliva, blood, or eating rabies meat; the mortality rate after infection is almost 100 %, and there is currently no effective treatment plan for rabies, so do pet dogs need to be vaccinated every year?

Do pet dogs need vaccinations every year?

Because the vaccination cycle for dogs depends on the prevalence of infectious diseases, the ingredients of the vaccine, the dog’s individual situation and local regulations. The shortest-lasting component of the vaccine determines how long it is effective.

In other words, each dog’s individual situation is different, and infectious diseases vary from place to place. In addition, vaccines also have an expiration date! In order to ensure that dogs are not protected from related infectious diseases, they naturally have to be vaccinated regularly.

The current international standard is to inject core vaccines into dogs.

The core vaccine is the quadruple vaccine for dogs + rabies vaccine. These vaccines generally need to be repeated every 3 years.

However, since the incidence of canine distemper or canine parvovirus in developed countries is much lower than that in my country, in order to ensure that your dog does not have the risk of being infected with related bacteria in China, we usually recommend that dogs be injected with canine distemper every year in China. The core vaccine is the quadruple vaccine for dogs + rabies vaccine.

Who doesn’t want their furry child to be safe and sound?

In order to prevent them from getting sick, we still recommend that parents vaccinate them every year!

Tips:

Basic immunization and annual booster immunization are important to maintain your dog’s immunity.

The immunization certificate contains important vaccination information, which must be kept properly and brought with you when getting vaccinated.

If your dog has any abnormalities, go to the animal hospital for treatment promptly.
