Symptoms of canine ascariasis:

1. Early symptoms such as weight loss, loss of appetite, and rough coat are common.

2. The dog’s abdomen is enlarged and its development is delayed. When the infection is severe, roundworms are often excreted in the vomit and feces, and the diagnosis can be confirmed.

3. Dogs are malnourished and develop extremely slowly.

4. Because the roundworms will slowly move into the dog’s trachea and esophagus, this will affect the dog’s respiratory tract, eventually causing the dog to cough continuously.

How to prevent ascariasis in dogs:

1. Check puppies once a month and adult dogs once a quarter.

2. We must take the cleanliness of the environment, troughs, and food seriously, remove feces in a timely manner, and ferment it to eliminate sources of infection.

3. The owner should provide the dog with a nutritious diet to enhance its resistance, so as to prevent roundworm infestation.
