Does it matter if you get scratched by a cat?

Whether a cat scratches you or not depends on whether the skin is bleeding or broken. If there is no bleeding and the skin is not broken, the wound can be disinfected normally. You can wash it with soap for 20 minutes, and then wipe the wound with iodine and alcohol. If the wound is broken or even bleeding, you need to disinfect the wound immediately before inoculating rabies vaccine. If there is bleeding, it is often recommended to inject serum at the same time. Domestic cats can be subject to the ten-day observation method, and the opposite is true for wild and stray cats.

Precautions for injecting rabies vaccine:

1. You need to stay in the hospital for half an hour after the vaccine injection to avoid adverse reactions caused by allergies.

2. Tetanus vaccine is required depending on the condition of the wound.

3. During the vaccination period, do not drink strong tea, coffee, wine and cola. Eat a light diet, avoid spicy, irritating foods and hairy substances, and avoid strenuous exercise such as running.

4. The wound should not be exposed to water within 24 hours after vaccination.

5. Muscle soreness is a normal adverse reaction and will usually disappear on its own within a few days. In severe cases, headache and nausea may occur.
