Causes of cat stomatitis:

1. Cat stomatitis caused by food. Many owners like to feed fish or chicken with bones, but fish bones and chicken brittle bones can get stuck in the mouth and cause stomatitis. Some scavengers will also prepare very hot food and water for cats. If the cat eats it for a long time, it will also cause burns to the oral mucosa and cause stomatitis.

2. Bacterial and viral infections, such as Fusiform spirochetes, Candida albicans, feline rhinotracheitis virus, and calicivirus.

3. Cats themselves lack nutrition, such as vitamin B, carotene, etc., which can cause stomatitis, just like people are prone to oral ulcers.

4. Cat stomatitis is mostly caused by internal heat and insufficient oral hygiene. Once infected with stomatitis, cats will develop bad breath, red and swollen gums, and drool.

Cat stomatitis care matters:

1. During the period of cat stomatitis, do not feed the cat food that is too dry and hard. You can replace it with wet food, or Soak cat food with goat milk powder before feeding it to reduce the pain in the mouth caused by eating dry and hard cat food.

2. Before the cat’s stomatitis recovers, the owner should clean the cat regularly to prevent the growth of bacteria in the mouth. After the stomatitis recovers, the owner should brush the cat’s teeth to reduce oral diseases.

3. Pay attention to breathing, body temperature, appetite and mental status. After the medication cycle is completed, please review it in time and follow up if you feel uncomfortable.
