Why do cats get diabetes?

There is a correlation between diabetes and cat weight. Due to changes in living habits, cats’ range of activities has been restricted and their amount of exercise has dropped significantly. Cats who have no worries about food and clothing no longer have to worry about the problem of satiety. After eating and drinking enough, the heat in the body cannot be fully released, which ultimately affects their body shape and weight. When the body is overweight, the body cannot produce a positive and effective effect on the hypoglycemic function of insulin, resulting in excessive blood sugar levels. Cats of any age can develop diabetes, but the incidence is higher in older cats.

Symptoms of diabetes in cats:

1. Polydipsia, polyphagia, and polyuria.

2. Weight loss.

3. Abnormal urination.

4. Not eating.

5. Lack of energy.

6. Renal failure and shock.
