Ragdoll cat is a large, cute and docile long-haired cat with big and beautiful blue eyes. The color of Ragdoll cats is like Siamese cats, with lighter body parts and darker colors on the face, legs, tail and ears. In most color patterns, some white markings may appear at these ends. An ideal Ragdoll cat must have balanced development and no extreme features. Neutered male Ragdoll cats can grow to 20 pounds (nearly 10 kilograms) or even heavier; while female cats will be relatively smaller. Ragdoll cats are a late-maturing breed. Their coat color will not be full enough until they are at least 2 years old, and their physique and weight will not be fully developed until they are at least 4 years old.

Ragdoll cats have a very close relationship with people. They will run to the door to greet you when you return, follow you from room to room, lie on you, fall asleep with you, and love you with all their hearts. They are very docile, often careful to avoid scratching people, and get along well with children, the elderly, and dogs. Ragdoll cats generally like to move around on the ground and are not keen on jumping up and down. They think people prefer soft meows to loud howls, so their calls are gentle and sweet.

Ragdoll cats are very considerate of their owners’ busy pace of life, so they will lick and comb their medium-length silky hair by themselves. If we want to comb their hair, we can hold it and comb it with a steel needle comb (stroke it with one hand, comb it with the other hand; stroke it with one hand, comb it with the other hand... .), but most Ragdoll cats do not need grooming. They shed very little and rarely develop hair balls, they are elegant and eager to please.

Ragdoll cats have 4 color patterns: two-color, fan color, glove and key color. The patterns come in 6 colors each: seal, blue, chocolate, lilac, red and cream. The extremities can be solid, bobcat or tortoiseshell. CFA only accepts two-color and Sanskrit colors to participate in the competition; gloves and accent colors can only be registered.

The key colored Ragdoll cats have the classic Siamese cat pattern. The Glove Puppets look as if they've just jumped into a bowl of butter and ate some: they have furry white chins, just like their white gloves and boots. The two-color doll looks like it has swam in a pool of cream, and its face looks like it just had a big meal. The four paws, abdomen, chest and the inverted V-shaped part of the face of the two-color puppet are all white, and there may also be one or two white spots on the back. Only their tails, ears, and parts other than their V-shaped markings will show darker colors. The Fan-colored doll looks as if it is about to sink to the bottom of the pool of butter. Only the upper face, ears and tail, and very few parts of the body may be darker.

The Ragdoll cat was discovered by Amberco, a breeder in California, in the 1960s. She bred a long-haired cat with a Siamese pattern named Josephine by mating it with other long-haired cats with a Siamese pattern.A large cat with a lazy personality. She carefully selected some breeding cats based on her breeding plan and established the basic standards for Ragdoll cats.

The price of Ragdoll cats often depends on the size, pattern and pedigree. Breeders usually do not transfer kittens until they are 12 to 16 weeks old. Because kittens have received the most basic vaccinations after 12 weeks, and are physically and mentally able to adapt to the new living environment, they can participate in competitions or be airlifted. Please keep these precious pets indoors, spay or neuter them, and provide them with an appropriate living environment (such as scratching posts) to adapt to their scratching habits (CFA opposes cat owners performing claw removal surgery on their cats). It is the basic condition for maintaining their health, longevity and happiness.
