Cut the umbilical cord if the female cat does not bite it for 10-15 minutes. If it is found that the mother cat still has not bitten the kitten's umbilical cord after about fifteen minutes, the poop scraper should prepare cotton thread and scissors to help the kitten cut the umbilical cord. Pay attention to disinfecting your hands and wearing gloves, and do not touch the kitten to avoid leaving an odor and causing the mother cat to not recognize the kitten. The length of the umbilical cord will affect the cat's normal life, such as walking. A long umbilical cord also increases the risk of infection, which can lead to bacterial peritonitis in severe cases. Therefore, the cat’s umbilical cord needs to be cut promptly after the cat is born.

Cat production precautions:

1. Disinfect and replace the female cat’s cat litter, and trim the kitten’s toenails to avoid scratching the female cat. Use physiological saline to disinfect the female cat's nipples, and help the female cat turn over or exercise regularly to prevent bedsores.

2. Feed the mother cat during birth, and place canned food and water next to the mother cat. Giving birth is a laborious task, which consumes a lot of energy and needs to be replenished at any time.

3. Before the female cat is about to give birth to kittens, we need to prepare a clean and comfortable delivery room for the female cat, and the delivery room should be kept quiet, otherwise noise and other factors will cause dystocia for the female cat.

4. If the female cat has dystocia, she should seek medical treatment as soon as possible. Dystocia is more common in primiparous cats. Some female cats have labor pain reactions after the expected date of delivery, showing pain. The abdomen keeps shrinking, and they are anxious. They keep looking back at the abdomen but are not giving birth.
