The wounds of cats sterilized in summer are prone to inflammation. Because the weather is hot in summer, wounds are not easy to heal, and bacteria are easy to breed. If the wound is not taken care of well, it will be easy to become inflamed and difficult to heal. In addition, cats tend to be restless when the weather is too hot, which is not conducive to the recovery of the cat's wound and may even tear it. Wound. Moreover, cats sweat easily, and if their abdomen is often on the ground and soaked with sweat, they are also prone to infection. Autumn and winter are more suitable for neutering cats.

Precautions for cat sterilization:

1. Do not put the pulled out cat’s tongue back. When some cat owners first see their neutered cats, they think the cat’s tongue hanging out looks unsightly, as if the cat’s tongue is stuck inside. This is very dangerous because after the cat is anesthetized, the whole body is loose, including the cat’s tongue. If it is stuffed into the mouth, the cat’s tongue may block the respiratory tract and cause suffocation.

2. You can only eat and drink within the prescribed time after surgery. It will take a while after the sterilization operation to drink water and eat. Generally, it takes about 4 hours for male cats and about 6 hours for female cats. It can be extended appropriately according to the actual situation.

3. Try to dim the light in the house as much as possible. Cats in the post-operative anesthesia recovery period are sensitive to light. You can choose to dim the light or provide a shading material on the top of the cat's nest to reduce the light.

4. For at least one week after surgery, especially male cats, try to avoid using cat litter with too much dust.

5. Postoperative feeding should generally follow the doctor’s instructions. If there is no special guidance from the doctor, the first feeding is usually done 3 to 6 hours after surgery. Do not force the cat to drink or eat.
