Skin diseases

There are many types of skin diseases, but in clinical practice and in most dog raising processes, the three main categories of common skin diseases are trauma, fungal and parasitic skin diseases.

The following will introduce you to the relevant knowledge of these skin diseases and their clinical conditions when they occur, so that you can easily identify them.

Trauma

Trauma is the most common skin disease.

Most of them include abrasions, scratches, bites and burns. Most of the abrasions, scratches and bites are treated with some external drugs or suturing, and are generally not harmful.

The higher risk is burns, which are divided into superficial burns and full burns. Acute burns caused by flames and extremely high temperatures can cause skin erythema, swelling, blisters, or epidermis peeling within seconds or minutes. ; If it is a chronic burn caused by long-term contact with high-temperature metal or radiant heat, it may not be easily discovered because of the covering of fur.

If your dog keeps scratching a certain part, you should look carefully to see if there are any lesions.

Fungal

There are three main causes of fungal skin diseases: Microsporum canis, Microsporum gypsum, and Phytophthora.

The most common cause is Microsporum canis. After Microsporum canis infects the skin, you will often see small circles on the skin the size of a dime, non-circular and characteristic hair loss lesions, sticky blood and erythema, which may be formed due to scratching by pets. After scab and fungal infection, you will find that your pet’s back hair is particularly prone to falling off.

Fungal infection may transition to the human body. It should be noted that the symptoms are also symptoms of itching.

Parasite

Common parasitic skin diseases include skin infections caused by parasites such as Demodex mites, mites, fleas and lice. Demodex mites and mites are more common.

The clinical lesions of Demodex mites include hair loss, sticky blood and scabs. They usually appear around the orbits and mostly around the mouth. The lesions will be faster and will spread to the whole body in about a week, and if it is delayed for a long time, it will still appear. Secondary bacterial infection will occur, and if it manifests, there will be pustules or swollen lymph nodes, as well as symptoms of rising body temperature.

There are also more mites in clinical practice, and the hygiene status of pets is still relatively good now.Okay, generally it occurs in puppies or dogs that often play outside. It is a very itchy skin disease and is very contagious. The clinical symptoms are hair loss, scab, etc., and vermin type. Mites are almost the same.

Fleas and lice are common blood-sucking ectoparasites on the surface of the skin. Itching is the main symptom, which can cause self-inflicted trauma due to scratching. The person can see it with the naked eye, and can see the crawling parasites and maroon-colored fleas and fleas. Lice poop.
