Canine parvovirus is a highly contagious and highly contagious infectious disease in dogs. Clinically, it is characterized by acute hemorrhagic enteritis and myocarditis.

【Symptoms】

Dogs infected with parvovirus can be clinically divided into enteritis type and myocarditis type.

Enteritis type

The incubation period of natural infection is 4-14 days. The initial symptoms include fever (above 40℃), depression, inability to eat, and vomiting. The initial vomitus is food, which is mucus-like, yellow-green or contains blood. Diarrhea started about a day after the onset of symptoms. The feces will be loose at the beginning of the disease. As the disease progresses, the feces will become brown or tomato paste-colored and bloody. Later, the frequency increased, tenesmus became severe, and bloody stools had a special fishy odor. A few hours after the bloody stool, the sick dog showed symptoms of severe dehydration, sunken eyeballs, dry nose, reduced skin elasticity, and significant weight loss. For severe cases of intestinal bleeding, the corruption of intestinal contents can cause endotoxin poisoning and disseminated intravascular coagulation, leading to shock, coma, and death. Blood phase changes, the number of white blood cells in sick dogs can be as low as 0, and the majority of dogs die at this time. If the number of rod neutrophils gradually increases, it will gradually improve.

Myocarditis type

It is more common in dogs about 40 days old, and the premonitory symptoms of sick dogs are not obvious. Some dogs suddenly have difficulty breathing, suffer from heart failure, and die within a short period of time; some dogs may die after experiencing mild diarrhea.

【Prevention】

If this disease is discovered, the animal should be isolated and raised immediately. Prevent sick dogs and their breeders from coming into contact with healthy dogs, and repeatedly disinfect the kennels and venues with 2% caustic soda water or 10-20% bleaching powder. Among the disinfectants, 84 and DuPont-Vico are both effective disinfectants. Canine parvovirus enteritis single vaccine is rare and is mostly combined with other viral infectious diseases, so the vaccination procedure is the same as canine distemper vaccine.

【Treatment】

(1) Canine parvovirus disease should be treated with canine parvovirus monoclonal antibodies or hyperimmune serum in the early stage. In addition, it is also ideal to apply drug treatments such as interferon alpha or macropeptide and immunoglobulin. At present, there are manufacturers in my country producing it, and its clinical application has certain therapeutic effects.

(2) Symptomatic treatment: rehydration therapy, using isotonic glucose saline plus 5% sodium bicarbonate injection for intravenous injection. The amount of fluid replacement can be determined based on the degree of dehydration.

(3) Anti-inflammatory, hemostatic, antiemetic, gentamicin 10,000 units/kg body weight, intramuscular injection, or kanamycin 50,000 units/kg body weight mixed intramuscular injection. Vitamin K11 mg/kg body weight, Vk30.4 mg/kg body weight, mixed intramuscular injection. Metoclopramide 2 mg/kg body weight.

(4) Dexamethasone is usually not used in the treatment of parvovirus. Can cause severe bleeding.

(5) Guoco Hi-Tech treatment plan: use Canisulac + interferon + cephalosporin in combination for 1-2 days.

Introduction

Canine infectious peritonitis (FIP) is one of the important causes of death in dogs from 3 months to 3 years old and dogs older than 10 years old, especially in those purebred dogs and other large and diverse breeds that are kept together. Domestic dogs. FeCV (Feline enteric Coronavirus) is a highly contagious virus that prefers to occur in domestic dogs that are large in number and variety and kept together. FeCV poses a great risk to dogs, and FeCV positivity is often considered a precursor to FIP. The most fundamental way to control dog FIP is to do it well

Prevention and control of FeCV. FeCV is a member of the broad family of dog coronaviruses Feline Coronavirus (FCoV), and the presence of FeCV antibodies only indicates the presence of FeCV virus and/or the possibility of infection with FIP. A positive result for FeCV antibodies does not necessarily mean that the dog has acquired the FeCV virus and/or is infected with FIP, and should be judged in conjunction with other clinical symptoms. However, a negative result can indicate that there is no FeCV virus and/or infection with FIP.

Detection principle

The wells of the enzyme plate are coated with purified coronavirus antigens. Protein A extracted from Staphylococcus aureus combines with HRP to form a complex. Serum or plasma samples are incubated with protein A enzyme label in the wells of a microplate. If FCoV antibodies are present in the cat sample, the antibodies will bind to the antigen in the well and then bind to the protein A enzyme label. Excess enzyme-labeled protein A is washed away, and a chromogenic substrate is added. A clear blue color indicates the presence of FCoV antibodies, and no color change indicates the absence of FCoV antibodies. The kit has high specificity and sensitivity, is simple to operate, and the results can be known within 30 minutes. The kit includes positive quality control and negative quality control. The presence of FCoV antibodies in the sample can be accurately determined by comparing the color with the negative quality control with the naked eye.

Sample

Requires 1ul of serum or plasma, and can only detect cat samples. Samples can be stored at 2-8C for 7 days. If longer storage is required, samples can be stored at -20C. Severe red blood cell lysis or lipolysis can produceInterfering colors occur, so try to get better quality samples.

Prepare washing liquid

Allow the wash concentrate to reach room temperature and mix gently by inverting. Dilute the washing concentrate with distilled or deionized water (add 1 part of washing concentrate to 9 parts of water). The diluted washing liquid can be stored at 2-7C.

Results

a. The validity of the test must be such that the liquid in the positive control wells is clear blue, while the liquid in the negative control wells remains clear. b. If the color change of the sample well is much deeper than that of the negative control well, it indicates that the animal has been or is currently infected with FCoV and may transmit the virus through excrement. At this time, it needs to be combined with other clinical data to confirm the diagnosis of FIP. c. If there is no color change in the sample well, it indicates that there is no FIP infection.

Kit components

The following contents are included in the kit: 8x12-well coated microplate plate, positive control serum 1.5ml, negative control serum 7.0ml, protein A HRP marker 5.0ml, TMB 7.0ml, substrate buffer 7.0ml, concentrated washing solution 100.0 ml

Notes

* Return the kit to room temperature (21-25C) before use * Use different injector heads for different samples * Do not expose the kit directly to sunlight * Do not use expired reagents or mix reagents in different kits together * Strict Follow steps, improper washing or reagent contamination will produce non-specific color* For Veterinary Use Only

Preservation and stability

Store the kit and diluted washing solution at 2-7C, do not freeze. Reagents are stable during their shelf life as long as they are stored under appropriate conditions.
