About one week after the puppies are weaned, they should start receiving regular vaccinations. When puppies receive their first vaccinations, they will need to be vaccinated once a month for the next two months. But do you know why dogs need three shots of vaccine? What is the reason?

Under general rules, after a vaccine is injected, the body receives stimulation from the antigenic substance - the vaccine, and it takes a certain period of time for antibodies to be produced, which takes about 2-3 weeks. However, the antibodies produced for the first time not only last for a short time, but are also very small in quantity. A small amount of antibodies has no effect on infectious diseases and cannot prevent epidemics, so only one vaccination is not enough.

When the second vaccination is carried out, the body can quickly produce a large amount of antibodies, which are dozens of times greater than the initial response and stay in the body for a longer time. If the third vaccination is given 3-4 weeks after the second vaccination, the number of antibodies produced by the body will increase dozens of times based on the second vaccination. As a result, the dog's body is equipped with the ability to resist infectious diseases, and it can be retained in the body for up to one year.

Why is it necessary to inject three vaccines? Is it just a deception by pet doctors? It is because biological immunology requires repeated stimulation of memory lymphocytes. The first immunization can only produce a small amount of antibody levels, and the duration is short. Multiple stimulations are required at reasonable intervals. Only in this way can more antibodies be produced and the long-term maintenance effect be achieved.
