Treatment methods for tonsillitis in English Foxhounds:

1. The dog can be injected with penicillin 40,000 to 80,000 IU/kg, 2 to 3 times a day. Gentamicin can also be injected at 30,000 to 50,000 IU/kg·day, 2 to 3 times a day, for 3 to 5 days. Apply iodine glycerin locally to inflammation.

2. You can use saline, 2% sodium bicarbonate solution, 2% boric acid solution, and 0.8% sodium sulfonate acetamide solution to prepare a detergent to wash the dog's pharyngeal cavity 3-4 times a day.

3. If your dog has acute tonsillitis and is in the early stages of tonsillitis, you can apply a cold compress on the neck.

4. If the dog has severe difficulty swallowing, you can feed it soft food and liquid food, or give it intravenous infusion to supplement nutrition.

5. If your dog’s tonsillitis recurs, you may consider performing gland removal surgery during the period when the tonsillitis is in remission.
