Symptoms of anal gland inflammation in cats:

1. Cats will mop their anus forward or wipe the ground back and forth after defecation and when they are quiet.

2. Cats will often lick their anus and tail, appearing very restless.

3. When a cat’s anal glands are severely inflamed, there will be swelling and pain around the anus and difficulty in defecation.

4. Cats will take longer to sleep, and even their sleeping posture will change. They usually hide in corners or dark places, unwilling to come out, and their resting posture is mostly "hen squatting position".

5. The cat’s appetite will decrease or disappear. Even the canned food and snacks that the cat usually likes will no longer like to eat, or even smell.

Treatment methods for cat anal gland inflammation:

1. Rinse the anal glands and empty the anal gland contents.

2. Apply oral antibiotics and topical antibiotic ointment.

3. If the above two methods do not show improvement, it is recommended to perform surgical removal of the anal gland sac.
