Treatment methods for kennel cough in dogs:
1. First of all, we must find out the cause of kennel cough in dogs, and also distinguish whether the dog’s symptoms are dry cough or cough. Wet cough, then carry out symptomatic treatment.
2. If it is a dry cough, antitussives should be used, while for wet coughs, phlegm-reducing and cough-relieving medicines should be used.
3. During the treatment period, the dog needs to be kept warm, especially in areas with relatively cold environment, and strenuous exercise of the dog needs to be restricted.
Symptoms of kennel cough in dogs:
1. A dry cough appears at the beginning of the disease. The dog will make a coughing sound like a goose, and then it will turn into a wet cough. This symptom is worse after exercising or eating.
2. The dog has weight loss, persistent anorexia or other organ symptoms.
3. Severe lung infection occurs. When a dog has severe lung infection, it may have symptoms of accelerated breathing rate.
4. Dogs may also have symptoms of high fever, vomiting, and runny nose. As the disease progresses, serous nasal fluid will turn into purulent nasal fluid.
