When cats are infected with tinea felis, they usually show symptoms such as hair loss, itching, erythema, scabs, and dander. The diagnosis can usually be confirmed by using Wood's lamp, hair plucking or scraping for microscopic examination. Since cat ringworm is a contagious fungal skin disease, when a cat is infected with cat ringworm, it must be isolated and fed promptly and disinfected.

Precautions when cats get ringworm:

1. Because cat ringworm can be transmitted to humans, please pay attention to disinfection. Cat owners should take oral multivitamins for prophylaxis.

2. Do not use daxonine cream on cats. The effect is very poor and it is easy to expand.

3. During the period of taking medicine, cats must have better nutrition and get more sunshine. During this period, the nutrition of cat food should be strengthened, and the cat should be given animal vitamins.

4. The home environment should be disinfected frequently, especially the nests where cats often sleep, mats, floors and furniture at home should also be disinfected frequently.

5. Be sure to detect new ringworm on your cat promptly. New hard pimples or protrusions on your cat's skin, with a little bit of skin flakes next to them, are new ringworm. Don't forget to apply medicine to these areas.

6. Humid, high-temperature, and unventilated environments can easily breed fungi. The cat’s environment must be dry and ventilated.
