Deworming is a must for cats. Whether cats live indoors or outdoors, no matter how old they are, they all need deworming. After all, we do not live in a sterile environment. If we are not careful, we may face the danger caused by parasites. Some parasites can also infect humans, so cats must be dewormed. In fact, the method of deworming is very simple, mainly divided into internal and external deworming. The owner can take a look at the following deworming methods.

 1. External parasites

Kittens older than 2 months old can undergo external deworming for the first time. Common external parasites include fleas, lice, mites, etc. It will make your cat's skin extremely itchy. Most external anthelmintics are drops, which are relatively easy to use. It needs to be dropped on the skin of the back of the cat's neck to prevent the cat from licking it. After using the medicine, the cat needs to wear a collar. Cats with skin diseases need to be isolated and treated before they can sleep with their owners. to prevent yourself from being infected.

2. Internal parasites

Cats that are over 45 days old can undergo internal deworming. Common external parasites include tapeworms, roundworms, nematodes, hookworms and other internal parasites. If such parasites can be fed to cats to help with deworming, It can be mixed into the cat's food or given in drinking water.

However, if the cat has been infected with coccidia, Toxoplasma gondii and other parasites that broad-spectrum anthelmintics cannot kill, targeted anthelmintics and conventional anthelmintics can be used alternately. Anthelmintic drugs are quite irritating, so you may need to take a probiotic to help maintain the intestinal flora, which will slowly recover after you adapt to the anthelmintic.

3. Take precautions

Whether it is internal parasites or external parasites, owners must take more precautions to reduce the impact of parasites on cats’ bodies. It is hoped that the owner can bathe the cat regularly and do a good job in environmental sanitation. Regularly clean and disinfect bedding, cat litter boxes, sofas, etc., shovel feces for cats every morning and evening, and replace cat litter in a timely manner. Food is best cooked.
