Cats are born around 2 months into pregnancy. Counting from the first day of successful mating of kittens, the period of pregnancy is approximately 62 to 67 days, with an average of 65 days. If the baby is born earlier than 58 days, the kitten is likely to die prematurely or be weak during delivery, which is considered premature birth. Kittens born after 71 days may be larger than normal and may die in infancy. Therefore, if the cat has not given birth in about 70 days, it is best to take it to a pet hospital to consult a professional pet doctor.

Methods for delivering a female cat:

1. Prepare the things needed for delivery in advance: scissors for cutting the umbilical cord, and tearing the kitten after it lands. A hot towel to wipe the mouth and nose when opening the afterbirth, silk or cotton thread to tie the kitten's umbilical cord, alcohol to disinfect the scissors, etc.

2. Female cats need to prepare a quiet box or room when they are pregnant and giving birth. And be sure to wash and disinfect your hands before delivering the baby, and perform operations such as tying the umbilical cord immediately after the kitten is born.

3. When the female cat enters the cat litter and starts giving birth, the owner needs to take good care of it. After each kitten is born, cut the umbilical cord at a distance of about a thumb cover, and then use a towel to clean the kitten's mouth and nose. Dry the mucus inside, hold the kitten's body with both hands, fix the head with your thumbs to shake out excess mucus from the body, dry the kitten's body, and wait until the kitten breathes and meows. If the female cat has dystocia, she should be sent to a pet hospital immediately for a caesarean section.
