Some cat owners may have noticed that their cats are shivering while sleeping. So why are they shivering? Is there something wrong with them? There are several reasons to explain this situation:

1. Cats are naturally very sensitive. This is their nature as predators, so they can always remain highly alert even when sleeping, and they will wake up if there is any small movement. However, cats’ sleep patterns are quite special. They don’t really sleep for long in a day, and most of them are in false naps.

Therefore, twitching and trembling indicate that they are sleeping soundly. At this time, the cat has entered a deep sleep state, and may be dreaming.

2. Sleeping posture may also cause convulsions in cats. When a cat lies on its right side with its hind limbs slightly bent, its front right limb bent on the right side of its body, and its left limb naturally straightened downwards, maintaining this sleeping position for a long time may cause the cat to twitch and tremble.

3. Cats’ ability to adapt to new environments is relatively weak, but they will also produce stress reactions. Cats in this stressful state will naturally not sleep too peacefully, so they may tremble.

Generally speaking, cats shivering caused by the above three reasons are not a big problem, but shivering caused by pathological reasons requires attention. For example, there are a large number of parasites in the body, but pathological shivering may not stop. There are usually signs when you sleep, so it’s best to go to the hospital for a checkup.
