Many novice owners are more concerned about when to deworm their dogs, but at what age can they start deworming their dogs? And in addition to internal deworming, when can external deworming be started? These questions all follow the little ones. Let’s take a look.

Internal deworming:

The best time for the first deworming of puppies is between 3-6 weeks, before the first vaccine.

Many anthelmintic drugs have age restrictions, and there is a risk of poisoning at a young age. Start once a week and continue for a month. After this, the dog only needs to be dewormed once a month. When you get older, around 6 months old, you only need it once every 3 months. After reaching adulthood, it is enough to deworm every six months.

In addition to the above-mentioned deworming plan, sometimes it is found that the dog has a poor appetite and there are eggs or adult worms in the feces, so it is necessary to deworm the dog according to the situation. If the dog is active outside frequently, it is also recommended to deworm every 3 months.

The most recommended brand is German Bayer, which has no adverse reactions and is not recommended for dogs. But please go to formal channels to buy medicines, as there are many fakes in many places.

When choosing an anthelmintic, be sure to pay attention to the dosage. Some deworming medicines are divided into dogs and puppies, and some are based on body size and weight, so be sure to read the instructions clearly before giving them to your dog.

External deworming:

The first deworming for puppies is usually about one month old and can be done at the same time as the vaccine. External anthelmintics can be divided into two types: drops and sprays, and owners can purchase them according to their needs.

The brand recommends Fulien or Dapai's drops, which are effective and long-lasting. Puppies can also use them with confidence. The side effects are relatively small, so there is no need to worry. However, during use, be sure to pay attention to the dosage according to the instructions.

Under normal circumstances, external deworming is done every three months. However, if you rarely take your dog out to play and the hygiene work is done well, the deworming time can be appropriately extended. But you have to do it, because it will be more troublesome once you are really infected.
