The food the cat eats is not easy to digest or the intestinal peristalsis slows down, causing the cat to be constipated and unable to poop. 3. There may be hair balls or certain foreign bodies in the cat’s digestive tract, causing gastrointestinal obstruction and preventing normal excretion. In addition, it is also possible that the cat defecated in other places and the owner did not see it. In this case, the owner needs to carefully observe the cat's defecation. If the cat does not excrete for a long time, you can take it to the pet hospital for examination.

1. Insufficient food intake

If the cat does not eat enough food for a long time, it will not be able to produce enough stool, and naturally it will not be able to poop. If this is the case, you can appropriately increase the cat’s daily feeding amount. If it is a kitten, it is recommended to feed small amounts multiple times during the feeding period to avoid hypoglycemic shock.

2. Constipation

When the food the cat eats is difficult to digest or the intestinal peristalsis slows down, it may cause the cat to be constipated and unable to poop. The owner can touch the cat's intestinal tract with his hands to see if there are any hard strips or lumps. If so, he can give the cat some lactulose or Kailuo to defecate.

3. Gastrointestinal obstruction

The cat has hair balls or has eaten some foreign objects by mistake, causing gastrointestinal obstruction. This situation can also cause the cat to be unable to pass urine. Passing stool will generally cause obvious symptoms of vomiting. It is recommended to take the cat to the pet hospital for examination as soon as possible. In serious cases, surgery may be required to remove the hair ball or foreign body.
