A small bump on a male cat’s belly may be the cat’s nipple or belly button, or it may be a lipoma or hernia. If it is hard to touch and continues to grow, it is mostly a lipoma. If it is soft to the touch, it may be a hernia caused by congenital poor development. Owners can first observe whether the small bumps on the male cat's belly have become enlarged, red, swollen or otherwise abnormal. If so, the cat should be sent to the pet hospital for examination and treatment as soon as possible.

1. Nipples

Male cats also have nipples, usually six, three in a row, two rows in total. You can first carefully observe whether there are neatly arranged small bumps. If so, they are the cat's nipples.

2. Belly button

Cats have a belly button, but the cat’s belly button has neither a pit nor a knot. It is the flat, smooth scar tissue left after the umbilical cord is cut. The belly button is flat and smooth.

3. Lipoma

If it is definitely not the cat’s nipple or navel, and it is hard to touch, it may also be a lipoma. You can observe it for two days. If the pimple does not grow and is not abnormal, you can leave it alone. But if you find that the pimple is getting bigger, it needs to be surgically removed in time. If you want to determine whether it is benign or malignant, it needs to be surgically removed and sent for examination.

4. Hernia

If the small bump is soft when touched, it may be a hernia caused by congenital poor development. There will be a hole in the abdominal wall, and the fatty tissue and intestines in the abdominal cavity may leak under the skin. Some people can push the contents back into the abdomen with their hands. If this is the case, surgery can be performed to sew the hole shut to prevent more contents from leaking out.
