Symptoms of epilepsy in dogs:

1. During the aura stage, symptoms include irritability, irritability, nodding or shaking of the head, screaming, hiding in the dark, etc. It lasts only a few seconds or minutes and is usually not noticed.

2. Loss of consciousness during the attack, suddenly falling to the ground, and the horns and bows being reversed. The first is muscle tonic spasm, followed by paroxysmal spasms, swimming-like movements of the limbs, and chewing movements. At this time, dilated pupils, salivation, incontinence, teeth clenching, apnea, and foaming at the mouth usually last for several minutes or seconds.

3. In the late stage of the attack, it manifests as varying degrees of visual impairment, ataxia, confusion, fatigue, etc. This period lasts for a few seconds or days. The intervals between epileptic seizures in dogs vary. Some have multiple seizures a day, while others have one seizure every few days, months, or even longer. There is generally no abnormal performance within the interval.

Methods to deal with epilepsy in dogs:

First remove dangerous objects within the pet’s range of activities. You can use blankets as buffers and protection. Keep your hands/face away from your dog's mouth and don't touch his tongue. Note the time of the seizure, which usually lasts 2 to 3 minutes. Once normal, try to calm them down. After the epilepsy is over, you can contact a veterinarian or go to the hospital for follow-up observation.
