Two chinchillas can be raised together. Chinchillas are docile, do not bite, and like to live in groups. Although chinchillas can be raised well alone, their owners cannot be with them all the time. Sometimes chinchillas feel lonely, and some chinchillas even become autistic.

Notes on raising two chinchillas together

1. It is best to raise two chinchillas of the opposite sex together. If the same sex is raised together, it is easy to fight. When closing the cages, it is best not to put them together directly. Separate the two chinchillas in two cages first, and then put them together after they are familiar with each other.

2. If chinchillas fight, they need to be separated. It is usually best not to treat them differently. It can easily cause psychological imbalance in the other chinchilla. Living with two chinchillas reduces their dependence on their owners. So just take care of them.

3. If the two chinchillas do not fight, insist on keeping the two chinchillas together for a few minutes every day, and gradually increase the time to let both parties become familiar with this habit of living together, and then choose a weekend to bring them together. Two chinchillas are kept together for a few hours for observation. If there is no serious aggressive behavior during this period, it means that the cage closing is successful.
