Common hamster diseases and their care and prevention
0 Jun 03,2024
Hamsters do not need to be vaccinated. First of all, the environment that hamsters come into contact with is small, and they are almost not exposed to pathogens, such as rabies, plague, etc., so hamsters are not susceptible to viruses or infectious diseases, and the chance of getting sick is relatively small. Secondly, there is currently no vaccine specifically for hamsters on the market, and there is no suitable vaccine available.
What you need to pay attention to when raising hamsters:
1. Hamsters are not social animals, so they cannot be mixed. Two hamsters in a cage will cause biting and fighting.
2. Pay attention to keeping the hamster warm in winter and cooling in summer, otherwise it will easily cause the hamster to catch a cold or heatstroke.
3. Hamsters have the habit of hiding food and then eating it. In order to prevent the hamster from having diarrhea after eating food that has been spoiled for too long, it is necessary to replace the hamster with fresh food frequently.
