Symptoms of scabies mites in dogs:

1. Small red nodules appear on the skin initially, and then turn into blisters.

2. After the blisters burst, thick yellow oily exudate flows out, and the exudate dries to form fish-scale scabs.

3. Local itching. Sick dogs often scratch the affected area with their claws or rub various objects on the ground.

4. When scabies parasites are outside the dog's ears, the skin of the ears becomes inflamed and a large amount of serous fluid oozes out, often leading to secondary suppuration. The sick dog keeps shaking its head and scratching its ears, even causing bleeding in the external auditory canal, and sometimes rotates to the side with severe disease. In the later stage, the disease may spread to the forehead and the back of the ear shell.

Methods to prevent and treat scabies mites in dogs:

1. Wash the dog’s body with sulfur soap or shampoo containing BHC.

2. Dilute Shiliu mixture with 1:5 or use insecticides such as C-666 for medicated bath or application. Because the dog’s skin can easily absorb toxic substances and cause poisoning, the retention time of medicated bath is average. It should not exceed 30 minutes.

3. In order to relieve itching and promote wound healing, corticosteroids can be taken for 4-5 days, but long-term use can aggravate the dog's infection due to immune suppression.

4. Avoid contact between dogs and other sick dogs and livestock.
