Cats licking their bodies wildly are mainly caused by excessive pressure, elimination of odor, physical injuries, and skin diseases. First of all, if the cat licks various parts of the body and there are no abnormalities on the skin, it may be too stressed or feels that its body is dirty and needs cleaning. It is recommended that the owner accompany and comfort the cat more. Secondly, if the cat frequently licks one part of its body, it is recommended that the owner carefully check whether there are any abnormalities in the cat's skin. If wounds or red spots or dandruff are found on the skin, the owner should go to the pet hospital as soon as possible.

 1. Too much pressure

Cats are very sensitive creatures. If the environment suddenly changes or strange people and animals appear in the home, the cat will become extremely uneasy, and then it will lick its body crazily to reduce blood pressure. In this regard, the owner needs to comfort the cat to relieve its nervous mood, such as gently stroking the cat's head and back with hands, placing the cat in a safe and sheltered place to rest, etc.

 2. Eliminate odor

When cats feel something they don’t like or their bodies are dirty, they will lick their bodies and use saliva to cleanse and cover up the smell. This is a normal phenomenon. As long as the cat does not show any other abnormality, the owner does not need to worry too much.

 3. Physical injury

Since wounds can cause pain to cats, and the wounds will itch during the healing process, cats will frequently lick the wounds to relieve discomfort. Therefore, owners can carefully check the areas frequently licked by cats. If wounds are found, they need to be cleaned and disinfected in time and treated with anti-inflammatory drugs.

 4. Skin diseases

If a cat suffers from a skin disease, due to itchy skin, the cat will lick its body frantically to relieve the discomfort. It will also be accompanied by symptoms such as skin redness, hair loss, and dandruff. Therefore, owners can check it out. Once they find that their cat has the above symptoms, they need to consult a pet doctor for medication in time.
