Symptoms of golden retriever tonsil inflammation:

1. Chronic tonsillitis is caused by repeated attacks of acute inflammation, and is more common in sick dogs with poor physical fitness. The tonsil surface loses elasticity and the crypt epithelial tissue proliferates. Acute attacks may also occur when the body's disease resistance declines.

2. Dogs suffering from acute tonsillitis will have elevated body temperature at the beginning of the disease, lack of energy, anorexia, and salivation. When the mouth is opened, the surface of the tonsils will be flushed and swollen. When the condition is severe, the tonsils protrude out of the crypts due to swelling, and sometimes small necrosis and suppuration lesions can be seen.

Treatment methods for golden tonsil inflammation:

1. To eliminate inflammation, penicillin 40,000 to 80,000 IU/kg can be injected intramuscularly, 2 to 3 times a day or gentamicin Vitamin 3 to 50,000 IU/kg·day, intramuscular injection, 2 to 3 times a day, for 3 to 5 days.

2. Wash the pharyngeal cavity with saline, 2% sodium bicarbonate solution, 2% boric acid solution, and 0.8% sodium sulfonate acetamide solution, 3-4 times a day.

3. People with severe inflammation and difficulty swallowing can be fed soft food and liquid food, or intravenous infusion to supplement nutrition.

4. In the early stage of acute tonsillitis in dogs, cold compress can be applied to the neck. For coughs and sore throat inflammation caused by colds, in addition to feeding anti-inflammatory drugs, you can also give your dog powerful antitussive drugs to eliminate throat inflammation.

5. For recurrent tonsillitis, during the remission period, surgical removal of the dog’s glands may be considered. Follow your veterinarian's advice for specific recommendations.
