Guppies are easy to raise and can eat basically many kinds of feed, mainly live bait and artificial feed.

1. Live bait: brine shrimp, silkworms, water fleas, fish and shrimp larvae, small insects, plankton, etc.

2. Artificial feed: flake type, micro-particle comprehensive dry hamburger feed.

When raising guppies, they should mainly feed on plankton, fish and shrimp larvae, small insects, etc. Insects that guppies can eat include midge insects, hemipteran insects, dipteran insects and various small mosquitoes; when feeding young guppies, you can prepare live brine shrimp larvae for them to help them open their mouths.

In addition to live brine shrimp larvae, we can also use frozen brine shrimp larvae, shelled shrimp eggs or artificial opening feed for guppies. Although not as effective as live shrimp larvae, it can still help the young fish open their mouths smoothly. When feeding guppies, you need to chop the meat into puree, mix it with fish bait, and then feed it to the guppies. Avoid guppies eating live insects or whole foods which can cause indigestion.

The amount of food you feed your guppy should be appropriate each time. Too little will cause malnutrition and slow development of guppies. Too much will cause guppies to overeat and suffer from indigestion. The amount of food each feeding should be eaten by the guppies within ten minutes is optimal. Because fish do not know how to feel full, feeding them randomly will not only pollute the water quality in the fish tank, but may also cause the fish to eat too much and even starve to death.
