There are many causes of hepatitis in dogs, mainly infection, poisoning and drug factors. In some dogs, the cause of the disease has not been identified. The most common cause of hepatitis in puppies under one year old is adenovirus infection. In addition to the symptoms of hepatitis, characteristic blue eye lesions will also appear. The main clinical symptom of hepatitis is jaundice. It is recommended that owners take the dog to the hospital for a comprehensive examination immediately when they find that the dog's skin is yellow, check the dog's physical indicators, and then treat the disease accordingly.

1. Caused by infection

When dogs are infected with viruses, bacteria, and parasites, these pathogens invade the liver or their toxins act on liver cells, causing hepatitis. The more common ones are puppies under one year old. Because their immunity is relatively low, they are easily infected. Once infected, their lives are easily in danger.

2. Caused by poisoning

If the dog accidentally eats toxic substances or uses chemicals repeatedly, it will cause poisoning of the body and cause toxic hepatitis. For example, industrial alcohol, isoniazid poisoning and organophosphorus pesticide poisoning are common poisoning diseases.

3. Caused by drug factors

If dogs are given steroid drugs for a long time, they can easily develop steroid hepatitis.

Note: After a dog suffers from hepatitis, he must go to the pet hospital as soon as possible. Early detection, early diagnosis, and early treatment can improve the survival rate of dogs suffering from hepatitis.
