In fact, as long as you train it properly, it is extremely easy to let a cat use the toilet. So, how should we train it? Let’s learn how to train a cat to go to the toilet! We must keep training cats when raising them, otherwise it will be very unhygienic to urinate and defecate anywhere.

Step 1: Preparation

 Slowly move the cat's litter box to a place in the toilet very close to the toilet. My cat litter box is right next to the toilet, so I went straight to step two. Many cats are very flexible. No matter where the litter box is, they will remember it as long as they show it.

The second step: "Substitute one's work"

 You need to buy a tin pan for baking cakes (you can use a sturdy and appropriately sized plastic pan instead) that can be safely placed with flushable litter in the toilet. Ordinary clumping cat litter uses ingredients similar to cement to achieve clumping. Once clumped, it is not easy to break up, and it will block the pipe when placed in the toilet. The best size of the tin plate is almost oval. If you can't buy a very strong one, you can put two tin plates together.

 This step is to replace the original cat litter box with a tin tray and start using flushable cat litter. (If your cat resists changing the cat litter, you need to mix it with the previous cat litter and change it slowly. I think it will generally not resist. This safe flushable cat litter has a very fine texture, and generally cats like fine litter)

Step 3: Raise the litter box

Use newspapers or cardboard to raise the litter box (that is, the tin plate) a little higher every day. It must be padded firmly so that the cat does not feel unsafe and wobbly when standing on it (the magazine is not suitable for use as a padding because it is smooth). This is to get the cat used to jumping on it to go to the toilet. Finally, the pad should be at the same height as the toilet.

 If you know that your cat is not very picky about the texture of cat litter and the location of the litter box, you can skip the first three steps, fill the tin tray with flushable cat litter, and go directly to step four.

Step 4: Officially enter the battle

 Put the tin plate onOn the toilet, cover the seat but keep the toilet lid open. If you feel the litter box is unstable after you put it in, use tape to secure it. If your cat has a habit of drinking water from the toilet, do not use any chemicals that automatically clean the toilet, because the cat will be poisoned after drinking the corrosive water in the toilet.

Step 5:

 Drill a small hole (about 2CM in diameter) in the middle of the bottom of the tin plate. Note that cats are very interested in small holes and may use their front paws to dig them out. When making holes, roll the aluminum foil downwards and make sure the edges of the holes are not sharp to avoid cutting the cat's claws.

 This is to get the cat used to hearing the sound of peeing in the toilet.

Step 6:

 Gradually enlarge the hole every day until you no longer need the tin plate. The cat is trained. I think this step should be taken slowly, and the cat may resist here. If the cat resists, you may need to take a step back and give it more time to adapt.  The hole should be made at a place where the cat often urinates and poops (usually at the back of the tin plate, not in the middle, but Huahua is in the middle), so that when the hole is not big at first, it will often pee. It leaks directly into the toilet, so burying it is not a big task. Observe your cat to see her usual postures and standing positions to determine where the holes should be. Start with the holes smaller. Be conservative so your cat doesn't rebel.

 It is better to go slower than to let the cat rebel. At first, there was sand everywhere, but there was less sand. After opening the holes, she gradually dug less and less sand fell on the ground. When the hole is as big as a small egg, if the cat squats in a relatively fixed position, the position of the feces and urine will also be fixed, and it will easily leak into the toilet, and the cleaning task will be much smaller.
